"Best view when I look west"

...I love coming around the corner of my street and seeing what beauty the sky has to offer me... especially at this time of the evening... A deep, rich, gray, tinted, mid-night blue, full set of clouds on a canvas of light blues and grays with a flair of darker streamed lines scratching all around... Mesmerizing

...feeling the breeze thru my hair... The sun soft on my face... I tilt my head back & close my eyes to soak it in for a just moment... while time stands still... I feel free

...As I look out, I see the sun setting and the moon rising which has created the most beautiful shade of ocean blue on the horizon... I drive off with a smile in my heart for the beauty that I was just given a glimpse of

...the wind is stirring... the rain is falling... let it blow and wash away any pain or sadness... let it be a fresh start with a new beginning

Shattered

I heard what they said...

I listened to her words
I believed them to be true
I shared her dreams
I filled her desires
I proved her fears to be false
I trusted her promises
...it's just who I was

BUT because of the many

  • empty words
  • misunderstood truths
  • dis-guarded dreams
  • forgotten desires
  • fear-based actions
  • broken promises
I don't believe any more...
...It's not who I am

I
want to hear and believe her...
  • sincere words
  • trustworthy truths
  • visible dreams
  • gifted desires
  • fearless actions
  • heartfelt promises
Wanting to have my faith restored...
...It's who I want to be

...does she exist

A man's love

To a man...
who has a beautiful smile
who has a full heart
who has a desire for love
who has a passion for life

To a man...
who does what he can
who gives all that he has
who accepts his weakness
who shows his strength

To a man...
who never gave up
who never lost hope
who never stopped trying
who never quit loving

To a man...
who I respect
who I admire
who I cherish
who I love

I Like You...

Simple signs...
A shy smile
...nervous fidget
...quick glance

...silent moment
A gentle laugh
Her ways...
Loving the cute way she looks in her PJs
...the way she is enjoying my jitters

...the gentle way she teases me

...the smile I get as I mustard up a glance

Loving the playful tossing of a pillow
Quiet thoughts...
Enjoying her amazing eyes
...her beautiful smile

...her cute laugh

...her playfulness
Enjoying just being there
Special joys...
Taking in the walking me out
...the heartfelt hug

...more of her sparking smile

...the second squeeze
Taking in the smile I have as I leave

From Day One...

His Birthday song on the day he was gifts to us: "Keeper of the Stars"

Your Step...

Be careful with your step
Do not cross over
Do not miss-step
It can take its toll

Be careful with your step
Do not close your eyes
Do not skip a beat

It can send you spinning

Be careful with your step
Do not lose your balance
Do not miss place your stride
It can trip you up

Be careful with your step
Do not walk the line
Do not waffle on the fence
It can stifle your direction

Be careful with your step
Do not be careless
Do not be callous
It can stain your dreams

Be careful with your step
Do not take it for granted
Do not assume it solid
It can cost you dearly

The Universe Speaks

Bright clouds are missing
The sky is purging

I tilt my head back

With my arms opened out

Letting the rain drench my face
As the water drips from my hair

Even with my eyes closed...

I am still able to take it all in
I feel the universe at its strongest

Now...
As hours have passed
And the storm has moved

I see the clouds spike

And the
falling rain from a far
Making a canvas for the colors that yield

The dark gray is the roar of the storm

The mid-night blue that is the soft wave

The mauve that is the rain sheeting down

And the touch of yellow that is still bleeding thru

All of this is a strong and yet gentle story of the universe speaking

BLACK... to home

With a black and wet sky
An even blacker, glassy road
The traffic is full
And no lines to be seen
Only black in my front sight
Off to my left are bright lights that blind
Windshield wipers on high
Yet not enough to clear the rain that falls
With both hands tightly on the wheel
All that is on my mind
Is my precious son at my side

Feeling slightly tense with this important life in my hands
Wanting to make sure I get him home safe
Wanting to make sure I do not make a mistake
I take in a deep breath and pray these words...

Dear Lord,
Watch over me, my passenger
And all those I pass by...
With a steady hand and a watchful eye
Giving us two angels in front
Two angels in back
And one angel on each side
To watch over us
...Guide us
...And protect us
Thank you, Amen

Feeling the tension drift from my shoulders
Yet still staying alert
I am breathing easier now, knowing...
This most valuable package will be delivered home to safety

Less Than Stangers by Tracy Chapman

You and me
Had some history
Had a semblance of honesty
All that has changed now
We shared words
Only lover speak
How can it be
We are less than strangers

Oh it hurts to lose in love
Let anger and cruelty win
It's unfair that you doubt your feelings
And that you'll ever love again
I know that hearts can change
Like the seasons and the wind
But when I said forever
I thought that we'd always be friends

You and me had some history
Had a semblance of honesty
All that has changed now
We shared words
Only lovers speak
How can it be
We are less than strangers

I thought I saw you yesterday
I thought I passed you on the street
I swear I saw your face
I was not imagining
That you stole a glance my way
You walked away from me
My heart it may be broken
But my eyes are dry to see

You and me had some history
Had a semblance of honesty
All that has changed now
We shared words
Only lovers speak
How can it be
We are less than strangers

Six Words Stories... living the pain

Trying to keep the numbness at the surface by burying the depth of what is real within... my pain. I do not have a positive spin on this one, so if that is what you are expecting, then read no further. My pain runs deeper than the deepest crevice. Life's heartaches have stripped and tainted the naivety, the hope, the passion, the trust, the belief, and the freedom of love for me. At one point, there was a spark, a glimpse of who once lived within me... only to be reminded as to why I need to bury my heart deep... lock it away... keep it safe... keeping me safe.

*This heart has ruled this dyke

*Sucker punched by life... once again
*Just as much damage by believing

*I want my life back... PLEASE
*
So full of life... yet empty
*Is running to save us both

*How many tears do you need...

*Empty promises... the damage is done

*But, the darkness runs so deep

*Didn't know I was still healing

*Was better before I was broken

*Thought she'd settle down with me

*Wanting to love again... but CAN'T

*Shut it down... bury it deep
*You've broken me... destroyed my soul
*Her memories haunt me daily... deeply
*I can not do this, anymore
*She will have to dig deep

I have been told by a few that the others were "Dumb Broads" for leaving me... apparently, that's all I love. What happens ? Is it me... or do I just pick "broken" people for which I think I have finally become...

Conditional by Tracy Chapman

Six Word Story "Conditional ...where my life's taken me"

It's conditional
Not for free
There are strings attached
Tied to me
I'll want something back
If you agree
To be in love with me

Hold me hold me in your arms
Hold me in your memory
Perfect perfect in your gaze
Far as my eye can see

It's conditional
Not for free
There are strings attached
Tied to me
I'll want something back
If you agree
To be in love with me

Try to try to try to forget
To change the things about me
You can not accept
Any day that you have regret
Just let it recede

It's conditional
Not for free
There are strings attached
Tied to me
I'll want something back
If you agree
To be in love with me

There are vows that must be made
There are terms that can't expire
There are words that must be said
And there are qualifiers
I'll love you but I'll count the ways
The things that I admire
And anyone who says they won't
You can call a liar

It's conditional
Not for free
There are strings attached
Tied to me
I'll want something back
If you agree
To be in love with me

Stay with me stay with me
Right or wrong
Pledge your loyalty
Have faith have faith
That we do belong
Together for eternity

It's conditional
Not for free
There are strings attached
Tied to me
I'll want something back
If you agree
To be in love with me
